Announcing the Drinkable Rivers World Rivers Day Celebration!

A massive thanks again to those who joined us at last night’s Information-Sharing session. We enjoyed meeting you all and were thrilled to be able to tell you first all about our upcoming World Rivers Day celebration.

After a lot of reflection about how this event should take shape, we have decided to make it a community-focused day to celebrate the current water champions of Canterbury. We will be hosting an informal pot-luck style event to celebrate at Margaret Mahy Playground from 11am on Sunday the 22nd of September. We hope you will all bring some kai to share and any information or marketing materials about your local water advocacy initiative. ALL are welcome, so please bring the whole family.

As ever, we will also plan to culminate the event with some time on the River. Those who are keen are strongly encouraged to bring a set of waders, a kayak, a canoe or a paddleboard to join us from 12:30pm for a water-based cleanup and a paddle.
